A recent study published in the European Heart Journal involving over 3,000 individuals across the U.S. and Europe highlighted that high levels of xylitol in plasma were linked to potential heart and blood vessel issues. The research also demonstrated a significant increase in platelet activity following the consumption of a xylitol-sweetened drink compared to a glucose-sweetened drink, emphasising the rapid effects of xylitol on the body.
