Lynn Millar, previously a senior social worker responsible for Highland Council’s substance misuse team, has appeared in Inverness Sheriff Court facing serious drug-related charges. The charges include allegations of dealing both cocaine and cannabis, as well as possession of £2,300 in cash linked to the Proceeds of Crime Act. The accusations stem from a police raid in Dingwall where authorities seized cannabis and cocaine valued at approximately £218,000. Although Millar was initially released without charge following the raid, further investigations led to her court appearance. Her tenure at Highland Council, spanning 30 years, has since ended, with the council declining to comment on personnel matters.
The police operation highlighted the ongoing efforts to combat organised crime, emphasising the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce’s commitment to disrupting the flow of illegal drugs into communities. Detective Inspector Robin Sim underscored the raid’s significance in pursuing individuals exploiting their positions for illicit gain. Alongside Millar, a 47-year-old man was also charged in connection with the offences. Millar has been granted bail and awaits further examination ahead of her next court appearance, the date for which is yet to be confirmed.
