Pennsylvania Budget Passed with Education Funding Increases

Harrisburg lawmakers have passed a new $47.6 billion budget for Pennsylvania, which included increased spending on public education for the fiscal year but did not guarantee future increases. The budget, described as a compromise by state Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward, also allocated funds for transit systems and included new oversight measures for cyber charter schools. However, significant goals such as legalising marijuana, implementing big tax cuts, and raising the minimum wage were left unmet.
