Missouri is facing its second massive cannabis recall, involving over 135,000 marijuana products, as state regulators issued notices affecting products from C&C Manufacturing, LLC and NGWMO LLC. This recall surpasses last year’s in scale, marking an unprecedented event in the state’s cannabis industry. The Division of Cannabis Regulation highlighted that the recalled products were either improperly tested or not adequately tracked in Missouri’s seed-to-sale system, Metrc. Companies across the state are now scrambling to quarantine affected vapes, edibles, and pre-rolled joints, with some still managing inventory from last year’s unresolved recall.
The repercussions of these recalls are significant, with dispensaries and manufacturing facilities struggling to handle the logistics of quarantining large volumes of products. The recall from C&C Manufacturing particularly impacts the industry due to the widespread use of their THC distillate in various brands. The lack of tracking compliance has led to increased scrutiny on Missouri’s cannabis market, prompting discussions about regulatory improvements. Despite the challenges, no adverse reactions have been reported from the recalled products, and the Division of Cannabis Regulation continues to advise consumers to return any affected items to dispensaries.
