A cocaine dealing ring involving British soldiers has been exposed, with nearly £100,000 worth of drugs sold within the military community, as revealed in a court martial. The operation was led by Rifleman Claudius Scott and his associates, who dealt about one kilogram of cocaine at prices up to £100 per gram. The profits were lavishly spent on luxury items like a Rolex watch and Christian Louboutin shoes. The network, composed of four members from the 5 Rifles Battalion, operated over a three-year period. The court heard that the drugs were sourced from West London and distributed among service personnel at an army barracks. Rifleman Ryan Saedi, acting as second-in-command, played a significant role in sourcing larger quantities, even amidst the COVID-19 pandemic’s supply disruptions.

The court also uncovered a ‘double bubble’ payday loan scheme run by Saedi, which tragically contributed to the suicide of a young rifleman, Nathan Worner. This scheme required borrowers to repay double the amount borrowed, adding financial strain on cash-strapped colleagues. The court heard emotional testimony regarding the influence of these illegal activities on the soldiers’ mental health and the broader military community.
